A Short history
The Village hall in Chapel of Garioch was opened on Saturday 1st
May 1937 by the Marquis of Aberdeen. The funds to build the hall were
a gift to the community from Sir Robert Smith MP with his nephew,
Mr RL Smith donating a site, a quarter of an acre field adjacent to
the village church. Over the decades the hall has remained a central
part of the community.
The hall today
Today, the hall is operated as a charitable non-profit making organisation.
Our aim is to be a focal point for community activities. There are
groups which meet on a regular basis and the hall is frequently used
for one-off events. During the year the committee host a number of
events such as quiz evenings, Halloween party and family games night.
The hall is also used as a venue for birthday parties, Hogmany parties,
weddings, anniversaries, dinner dances, charity fundraisers, funeral
teas, school events, church events and much more.
There are committee meetings thoughout the year to which all members
of the community are most wecome to attend.
